US Environmental Claims

Our approach to handling claims is simple, to repay the trust that the Insured has placed in us:

  • We will quickly acknowledge and give individual attention to each claim.
  • We will over communicate throughout the claims process to foster an atmosphere of cooperation and professionalism.
  • We will reserve promptly and will transparently explain what is and isn’t covered.
  • We will promptly pay the claims we owe.

We understand that a claim against one of our Insureds may have resulted from a very stressful circumstance for them. In that light, we will endeavor to make the claims process as simple and straightforward as possible with the goal of returning our Insured’s business to a sense of normalcy as soon as possible.

Our Claims Team mirrors our Underwriting Team in that it will be visible, customer facing, service focused and accountable. Our state of the art claims system provides superior Quality Assurance/Quality Control and will allow us to be nimble and responsive.

The Claims Team will bring to bear many long standing relationships with highly regarded environmental consultants and experts as well as defense counsel firms throughout the United States. No matter where a claim may occur we are confident that Sirius Environmental can bring in the right team of industry leading environmental consultants, experts and defense attorneys to properly represent and aggressively defend our Insureds.

Management of the Claims Team is led by Bob Albanese out of our Pennsylvania office.  Bob has nearly 20 years of environmental claims and environmental consulting experience prior to joining Sirius in June 2017.  Bob’s national environmental claims experience includes both litigated and non-litigated matters, and sites ranging from relatively minor mold and UST matters to complicated redevelopment projects.

Bob’s consulting experience incorporated all phases of environmental site investigations, project design, remedial plan preparation and implementation, project reporting and close-out.  Bob obtained his Professional Environmental Engineering license while working in consulting.  Bob holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Engineering and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2005.  Bob is a licensed attorney in Pennsylvania and holds multiple insurance adjuster licenses.
