1980
Four European mutual companies formed Folksamerica Reinsurance Company (now known as Sirius America).
Late 80’s
Growth through acquisition strategy and organic growth of the portfolio.
1991 (to 2004)
Folksamerica embarks on period of significant acquisition activity; nine acquisitions are completed.
1998
Folksamerica acquired by White Mountains from the founding European mutual and becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of White Mountains.
2004
With acquisition of Sirius International, Folksamerica becomes the US-based operating company of new global enterprises.
2007
Folksamerica rebrands to White Mountains Re America.
2011
White Mountains Re America rebrands to Sirius America Insurance Company.
2016
Sirius Group is acquired by CM International Holding Pte. Ltd. ("CMIH”). CMIH is a Singapore based investment holding company owned by private investors.
